Home is where the Studio is! Tour of my Studio!

My studio is my church. It is where I think, work hard, and try to achieve good things. It is also where I create my artwork. Here is my desk, where all the magic happens. Everything from marketing my business, currently some homework, and of course where the art is created. I surround myself by some of my favorite things so they will be within eyesight or reach so I may be inspired to continue to create!

My lists of inspirational trinkets on my desk include some of my own art work, cats and dinosaurs, my business card, candles, a terrarium, a skull, Groot, bottles, books, magazines, and so much more!

On my small book shelf (holding only the necessities) I have reference books such as "Artist's and Graphic Designer's Market" which is a wonderful tool for any freelancer! The sell these books for many fields, they are filled cover to cover with contact information for potential clients. I also have "The Graphic Artists Guild Handbook of Pricing and Ethical Guidelines" which I refer to quite often as it contains average prices of projects for the current year, great tool for freelance artists! Not all of my books are reference books, I have many books (and comic books) that are horror related. Two of my favorite are my "Lenore" illustrated books from Roman Dirge, Jesse got me these for Christmas this year! I love having my "Lenore" books staring at me all day because they remind me of Jesse, one of my biggest fans! Jesse has encouraged me and help me with many things in my art career and I am so grateful for it all, don't think I would be this sane if he wasn't there to cheer me on.

My desk just made new friends this year! My reference models! I just got them and haven't had a chance to use them yet but I am super excited to start lighting and photographing these guys! If you are interested in acquiring some for your own referencing needs, I got the male model and head from here. The female model I got here. They are a pretty penny but definitely worth it!

Remember those little inspirational things I was telling you about? Well here is one of my favorite ones! A little steel kitty that my parents got me this past Christmas. My parents are such great supporters of my art and being across state from them is kinda hard. This kitty is a good reminder that two of my biggest fans believe in me!

My business card sits in front of me all day as a reminder that "hey, you are a professional artist! You have the coolest job in the world!"

I also have little dinosaurs because... well... they are cool!

Now, I also have two little assistants that work their tales off for me (or they think they do!). My first assistant has been with me for three years, this is Gomez. His specialties include posing pretty, public speaking, and guarding the apartment from intruders with his guard singing in the middle of the night!

(BTW I just noticed the other assistant's eyes in the top left of the picture! Hahahaha!)

My other assistant is Toto. Toto has only been with me for just over a year but he is doing a great job! His specialties include keeping my lap warm, using his face to make me smile (Persian faces! <3) and public speaking as well! 3

Thank you for joining me in a tour of my studio and meeting my two assistants! I hope you enjoyed it!

Post TWO of SEVEN is DONE!!! This challenge is making me feel great and inspired!!! Please join me and do the same, I would love to hear from you!

Until next time. Thanks for reading!
